Patrick Walsh MNZM
It is with great pleasure that we, as a Sacred Heart and Marist community congratulate our Headmaster, Patrick Walsh who was awarded a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) for services to education, announced in the Queen's Birthday Honours 2022.
In his short time with us, Patrick has shown service in the way of Marcellin Champagnat. Patrick is surprised and humbled by this MNZM acknowledgment, which is very fitting with his excerpt in the recent College newsletter. The Marist virtue of humility, Marist men recognise the talents, skills and abilities they possess are “God given” and to be used in the service of others.
Patrick is a clear example of this in his service not only to education in wider Aotearoa but in Catholic education which he has dedicated his entire professional career to.
So we acknowledge Patrick and Paulene and family, (for their support of Patrick), and thank you for your work and service in your chosen calling.
