About us

The Sacred Heart College Development Foundation Trust leads a range of fundraising initiatives for the growth of the College. Working closely with the Board of Trustees, the Proprietors Board, Sacred Heart Old Boys Association and our community, the Foundation fosters giving that can make a positive difference to the lives of current and future students and families.
Our objectives

The Foundation, established in 1994 and registered in 2008 as a charitable entity under the Charities Act 2005, plays a key role in promoting the Marist mission, encouraging a philanthropic culture within the wider school community, and driving the College's strategic vision to remain a leading Catholic institution in New Zealand.

As well as supporting the College's various major capital projects, and building the College's Endowment Fund, the Foundation is committed, through funding of various scholarships, to providing the opportunity for students from all over New Zealand to benefit from a high-quality Marist education.

Meet our Board

The Foundation Trust Board is made up of community members, many of whom are Old Boys, who bring a wide array of skills and expertise, working together to strategically shape a bright future for our school and students for years to come.

Michelle Olsen

Trustee

Michelle's connection with the College began in 2011 when her eldest son started at Sacred Heart. Since then, Michelle has had two boys go through both the College and the Hostel, giving her and her husband  first-hand experience of the full breadth of the Sacred Heart community.

Michelle's involvement in College life began with the PTA, followed by roles on the School Board of Trustees, the Hostel Board, and most recently the Development Foundation Board. These experiences have given her a broad and practical understanding of College’s affairs.

Balancing a corporate career with commitments to the school can be challenging, but it is incredibly rewarding to see the positive impact the College has on so many young men.

Our faith sits at the heart of who we are as a College, and it is important to recognise that we are part of a long-standing legacy. As parents, we play a vital role in strengthening that legacy for future generations and in upholding the College motto: Confortare Esto Vir — Take Courage and Act Manfully.

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit
As a Sacred Heart Old Boy, I am very proud to lead the Sacred Heart Development Foundation's Board, ensuring we can provide financial security for the future of the College and ensure the Marist mission lives on.
Philanthropy and fundraising play a vital role in enriching our school community, enabling us to open up a world of possibility for our students - developing their faith, fulfilling their academic potential, and providing opportunities for sporting and cultural excellence.
There are many ways to get involved and help shape the future of the College and our students. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference - whether it's through a financial donation, volunteering your time, sponsoring a scholarship, a bequest, or supporting special projects.
If you're interested in supporting the Foundation or learning more about how you can contribute, please get in touch with our team to chat about where your support would really make a difference.
Thank you for your generosity.
