Students benefit tremendously from living in a safe, comfortable and caring home environment, and improve their spoken English and experience the kiwi lifestyle by participating in daily home life.
Hosting is a great opportunity for those in your family to learn about a new culture while sharing your own, and to make friendships that can last a lifetime.
Remuneration is fortnightly in advance, and fees are reviewed annually for adjustment.
A host family needs to be able to provide:
- A warm, light bedroom with study desk, chair and lamp
- Wi-Fi Internet
- All meals and snacks including school lunches
- Close proximity to school or on the school/public bus route
There are short term and long term options for hosting, as in addition to students who attend as day boys we also have International boarders who need placements during the term holidays while the College hostel is closed.
To apply to become a homestay host, please complete the application form and email to Mrs Ange Peters. All hosts are additionally required to complete a Police Clearance process form, which is mandatory in New Zealand.
