About Us

The Development Foundation supports large-scale capital projects at the College, and is currently fundraising for two major projects.

Brother Fergus Science Centre

A new first-class Science Discovery Centre will be a significant upgrade to the college’s science learning environment. The facility, due to officially open in early 2026, will include laboratories for Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and STEM for Robotics, an outdoor area for Agriculture/Horticulture, and shared resource spaces.

In addition, there will be a specifically designed and built Archives Room to protect and preserve the history and legacy of Sacred Heart College, making it available to students, Old Boys and the wider Sacred Heart College community.

Sports & Recreation Centre

The next capital project on the College's strategic property masterplan is a new Sports and Recreation Centre.

The vision is for a high-performance facility that helps our young athletes be their best in their chosen sporting endeavours. Most importantly, it will ensure all boys receive exercise, health, wellness, and nutrition education, providing them with the fundamentals for a healthy lifestyle now and into the future.

The target for the completion of the new facility is late 2028, tying in with the College's 125th jubilee celebration.

Completed projects

With the generous support of our community, the Development Foundation has contributed to the completion of multiple projects for the College. Most recently, these include:

  • School of Imagination - officially opened in 2017, the centre is home to a Performing Arts theatre, recording studio, music practice rooms, teaching spaces and a knowledge centre.
  • Auditorium and Br Sean Hanaray Foyer - a 1,500 seat auditorium, allowing the whole school and wider community to come together for assemblies, performances and prizegivings. The auditorium is connected to the School of Imagination through the Br Sean Hanaray Foyer – an expansive and bright space that serves as a functional venue for events.

Other previous projects include the Intermediate Block in 2009 and extension in 2010, Administration Block and Centenary Square in 2003, the Aquatic Centre in 1997, Marist Brothers Gymnasium in 1996, and the Chapel rebuild and Old Boys Lounge in 1993.
