Cathedral Mass 2021
On Friday 4th of May 2021, we as a College and our extended Sacred Heart College community celebrated the biannual Cathedral Mass at the Cathedral of St Patrick & St Joseph in Auckland’s CBD. This occasion was of extreme significance to those who attended and most especially for Year 12 and 13 students as this was their last opportunity to attend the event.
For 2021 we as a College were fortunate to have Bishop Michael Dooley DD celebrate the Mass along with other Sacred Heart College Old Boy priests concelebrating the mass with him. Student involvement with this celebration was prominent as always with a number of students assisting with flag bearing, reading Prayers of the Community and Scripture. All of the students who took part in the day’s proceedings did an incredible job, the way in which students composed themselves and represented our College was of the highest esteem.
The College also presented leadership badges to four students, commending them for their extraordinary service to the College. These boys were Myron Downing, Josh McNamara, Leo Farrell, and Sean Farrell.
Many thanks to the Marist Brothers, students and staff who made this occasion so memorable.
John Dominic Alo, Deputy Head Prefect
