Year 9 Readers' Cup
We had the privilege of hosting the East and South Auckland Regional Readers’ Cup competition. Congratulations to our talented team of Sacred Heart College students, who emerged as regional champions! They will now go on to represent the region at the National Readers’ Cup, to be held on 16 September at Dilworth College, competing against top schools from across Aotearoa — including teams from the South Island.
The team (Finley Conner, Jevon Mascarenhas, Dominic Prill, Asofiafia Tala'imanu, and Harry Wilson) coached by last year’s Sacred Heart champions who placed 4th nationally in 2024, demonstrated outstanding knowledge and teamwork. To win the regional round, the boys answered 60 questions based on six selected books. As they prepare for the national final, they will now take on another six titles.
A special thank you to our Year 10 coaches, Jacob Brownlee, Elliott Burton, Hamish Coxhead, Shane Fernandes, Finley Gray, James Peyroux, and Leo Ryan for their invaluable support. Thanks to their dedication, Sacred Heart College has proudly secured the regional cup for the third year in a row.
