Year 9-11 Father & Son Mass and Breakfast
A large number of dads, grandfathers and significant men in the lives of our students at Year 9-11, gathered in the chapel before school for the celebration of Mass, led by Fr Stephen Berecz. It was a prayerful liturgy including the blessing of sons of their fathers and fathers of their sons.
At the end of Mass, guest speaker, Mr Mark Richardson spoke on the importance of men to give their sons space and support, to encourage and grow their resilience and confidence. Charlie, his Year 13 son had a right of reply, unbeknownst to Mark. It was clear that Charlie valued the gift of a male’s listening to him, just being there as a rock, as well as encouraging him to work hard. In turn it was vital that boys could thank them for their time, love and patience.
Breakfast followed in the Auditorium, where the boys and men spent quality time together recognising their importance to each other.
