Mass of Welcome & Prefect Induction 2026
On Thursday 29 January, we gathered for the Mass of Welcome, celebrating our new students and marking the blessing and badging of the 2026 College and Hostel senior leaders and prefects. The liturgy was led by College Chaplain, Fr Stephen Berecz, and was a moving occasion for the parents and whānau of our senior leaders. Each leader was individually blessed and badged as they begin their year of service.
Head Prefect Cooper Fox gave his first formal address, warmly welcoming new students and their families to the College. He spoke of the strong sense of belonging, sharing how the College has become a second home for him - and will be for them too.
New students and their families also received a special blessing, with entrance badges presented to the boys by Deans and senior staff, acknowledging their presence and the significance of this important start to the year.
A collection was taken during the Mass in support of the College’s twinning project with the Marist Brothers’ High School in Suva, Fiji. We raised over $1600 - we sincerely thank all those who contributed so generously.
